He Knows Everything

May 19, 2023

Note from Grandma D: I’m trying something a bit different — a series of four blog posts which will run on consecutive days. These posts, entitled “He Knows,” look at what He knows about us, as well as what He knows about our past, our present and our future. I hope you will be able to read them in order.

He Knows Everything About Us

He knows. Those two words can cause great fear and dread, a sense of panic, or deep sense of peace and comfort.

Our Heavenly Father knows everything. Period. What that means to my life and yours depends on our relationship with Him. This devotional series will be divided into four posts. We are going to look at what He knows about us, our past, our present, and our future. Hopefully, His all-knowing thoughts about us will reinforce just how deeply He loves us as well.

Today, let’s look at what He knows about us.

He Knows How Special You Are!

It is amazing to think that in all of creation there has never been anyone like you. Not only are your intricate fingerprints one-of-a-kind, but your mannerisms, dreams, passions, emotions, even your thoughts are unique. In fact, our Heavenly Father knew all those things that make you “you” long before you were even a gleam in your mother’s eye.

If you ever question your value and how you were specially designed, go read Psalm 139! It’s my favorite! (https://www.esv.org/Psalm+139/)

The fact that our loving Father had a plan for us before we were born can be so comforting. But sometimes we forget. He knows how deeply we feel when we are hurt, how much we want to be accepted just as we are, and how we sometimes doubt our own worth. If we could just see ourselves through His eyes!

He cherishes every detail about you! That includes every hair on your head (or those in your hairbrush!), every blemish on your skin, the scars from those childhood falls, and those wrinkles by your eyes when you smile. That means he also knows all the things you don’t like about yourself! It just makes Him shake His head in disbelief because He knows the truth about you.

He Knows How We Feel About Ourselves

He knows that we sometimes don’t like what we see in the mirror and how easily we find fault in ourselves. He sees that our eyes always seem to focus on our “flaws.” To Him, they are not flaws at all, but His stamp of uniqueness that makes us His children. It breaks His heart when we don’t believe in our amazing beauty and our potential to change the world around us. Instead, we compare ourselves to others, and we always come up short.

This world is just so full of dissatisfied people, especially women. We listen too much to the messages from influencers and the media telling us we don’t measure up if we don’t look a certain way or wear a certain outfit or believe a certain agenda. The only message we need to listen to comes from the One who knows us best and made us in His own image. He is the only “influencer” that matters!

He Has a Plan For You

I promise you that His love for you is not based on how you look, what you feel, even how you act. None of those things matter. He knows everything about you, my dear one, and loves you just as you are. He sees you struggling to love yourself. But guess what! Everything that you are – your traits, your thoughts, your skills and talents, even all your emotions and dreams – make up His perfect plan for your life.

It may take some practice and a lot of prayer for you to see yourself as He sees you. But He promises that believing in your worth will make your life richer and fuller. You will have a radiant smile, a sparkling gleam in your eyes, a confidence in your step, and a joy in your heart that will spill out on those around you. They will eagerly want to know your “secret.”

Yes, He knows how wonderful you are. He just wants you to know it, too.

Let’s Pray:

Dearest Father, we are so thankful that You love us just as we are. Please help us to see ourselves as You see is — made beautiful in Your image. It is because of Your love and Jesus’ sacrifice — not anything we have done or could ever do — that we are called daughters of the King! Help us to never forget how special and loved we are. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
